Recently McMillan Cancer Care requested our help at EXHI Cardiff Bay. They had big plans for raising extra funds for their charity and decided to host an auction at the Pentwynmawr Community Centre in November 2005. Their efforts paid off and £5000 was raised which will be donated to Cancer Research UK. Embassy of Man ‘sold’ a weekend away at our or any of our sister hotels in Swindon City Centre, Wimbledon-South or Burton-upon- Trent for £240.
Staff at Express by Holiday Inn Cardiff Bay have come up with an innovative way of helping their nominated charity, The Ty-Hafan Children’s Hospice. Joining forces with Cardiff Mini Club members, a “ Cardiff Bay Mini Cruise” around Cardiff Bay and Cardiff City Centre, with a static display in the Oval Basin, will take place on 24th July 2005. A £2 entrance fee is required per Mini and a raffle will be held with all monies collected being donated to the hospice in Cardiff. Embassy of Man have donated a voucher for a complimentary weekend stay at Express by Holiday Inn Cardiff Bay as one of the prizes in the raffle.

 Sue Evans, Alex's mom writes: "Alex has not have what most people would consider a 'normal' life so far. His condition affects his social behaviour as he finds it difficult to interpret facial expressions and different situations. Because of that, life has been very difficult for us as a family, fighting just to give Alex some sort of chance in life. However, we discovered that he could demonstrate his creativity and practise his communication skills by using the computer. The laptop has proved priceless since being presented to Alex; he now attempts to keep a diary of his daily events, chats with friends over the net and develops his artistic skills. Because of this laptop he now has the ability to communicate in a way which he rarely does..."
